• Internship / Thesis: Machine Learning for Automated Error Analysis

  • Overview


    LogMeIn’s online conferencing products provide audio for millions of customers daily. To enable monitoring and error analysis our infrastructure writes enormous amounts of events and log lines. However, going through these manually to analyze single problematic meetings is a tedious and time-consuming task and does not help us to see if there is a systematic error in our infrastructure. By using machine learning we can predict when errors may occur and by using interpretable machine learning we can find out why a model predicts what it predicts.

    Your task is to improve the underlying model generation, automate the entire process of prediction to interpretation and make the analysis process repeatable and scalable to provide our developers with actionable insights on potential improvements in our core infrastructure.


    • Data-driven validation of trained models in the cloud
    • Development of an automated end-to-end prediction and interpretation process
    • Integration of the resulting workflow into standard continuous integration tools for testing and monitoring


    •  Required:
      • Strong proficiency in Python
      • Proficient understanding in at least one machine learning framework (preferably Tensorflow/Keras)
      • Solid agile software development skills
      • You are enrolled as a student

    • Preferred but not required:
      • Understanding of docker, Kubernetes, and the AWS landscape is a plus
      • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics or a related field
      • Previous experience in the DevOps field
      • Knowledge about audio and signal processing
