• PSTN - Senior Software Developer

  • Overview

    Jive’s PSTN interconnection team is looking for an awesome software developer with a knack for building, troubleshooting, and operating microservice-based distributed, real-time communications systems at scale.


    As a member of the team that owns crucial parts of Jive’s voice platform, your responsibilities will include development, architecture, testing, deployment, operation, maintenance and evolution of the PSTN gateway, least-cost routing engine, PSTN peer configuration and telephony fraud detection and mitigation engines.

    Both open-source and homegrown elements are used in a variety of programming languages (mostly C, Java, Python, PHP). The team interacts with many other development teams that consume PSTN services for a variety of purposes.

    • Passion for well-crafted software
    • Computer Science/Engineering degree or equivalent work experience
    • C, Java proficiency and experience
    • Strong troubleshooting skills
    • Strong English proficiency (written and spoken)


    Even Better if You Have

    • A solid understanding of IP networking
    • Knowledge of SIP and RTP
    • Working knowledge of Docker
    • Experience with Linux system administration
    • Experience with openSIPS or Kamailio
    • Experience with Asterisk
    • Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL
    • Experience with cloud-based technologies such as AWS
