    You are a subject matter expert in the area of enterprise architecture and security, with the ability to speak broadly and deeply on all software architecture and security topics. As our Principal Architect, you play a critical role in LastPass’s ongoing product development and improving its security posture.


    You drive LastPass’s technical vision and develop a suite of enterprise-grade solutions that directly impact complex solution sales and result in technical wins.


    About the role

    • Partner with product management and engineering leadership teams to administer the development process and engineer complex features which improve our security posture
    • Partner with a cross-functional team for providing the right development directions by providing processes and standards
    • Support the design and implementation of sensitive, crypto heavy; server, mobile, and embedded applications and do security-focused architecture and code reviews, assessments
    • Work on our LastPass solutions in our IAM cloud
    • Initiate and drive technical decisions, provide frameworks for technical decision making
    • Work in a highly agile, cross-functionally environment
    • Consider ambiguity as an opportunity

    Essential qualifications

    • Strong business acumen, the ability to consider the business side of your decisions
    • At least 8 years of design and implementation experience with enterprise-level, geo-redundant, multi-datacenter software systems
    • Have a background in one or more Identity and Access Management disciplines, such as Authentication, Authorization, Federation, Access Management, Directory Services
    • Proven ability to architect solutions from start to finish: designing specifications, prototyping, managing POCs
    • Masters base concepts of cryptography and application security
    • World class indirect influence and interpersonal verbal & written communication skills in English
    • World-class problem-solving skills, troubleshooting ability, and analytic skills
    • Self-managed and able to work in a high performing team environment


    Desired qualifications, experiences

    • Authentication technologies (various protocols, multi-factor, mutual TLS)
    • AD/LDAP skills and directory services
    • User Account Provisioning and Synchronization services
    • Security related technologies including Kerberos, NTLM, PKI, TLS/SSL, and Security Policy
    • Microsoft Cloud (Azure, O365)
    • IaaS/PaaS services (AWS, Google Cloud)
    • Experience with various types of operating systems and web application servers (NGINX, IIS)
    • Developer languages (PHP, C#/.NET, JavaScript, Java)
    • RESTful web services, microservices
    • Familiar with the concepts of Clean Code
    • Proficiency in design patterns
    • General networking, including HTTP/S, TCP/IP, load balancers, firewalls, proxies and familiarity with tools for troubleshooting networking issues such as Fiddler
    • Experience with RDBMS and non-relational data store systems (MySQL, Cassandra, Redis)
