  • Overview

    The Operations Cloud Network Engineer acts as a member of the Technical Operations team and is responsible for the reliability, availability, maintenance and monitoring of a mission critical, large-scale, highly available, centrally managed Network & Cloud infrastructure supporting product teams and business analysis systems supporting mission critical services running on a global network serving hundreds of thousands of end users. This role works with other senior technical staff and management teams in architecting technical solutions as needed and both participates on and leads project teams; develops new procedures based on technical solutions; recommends and leads projects requiring complex technical decision making and provides input to delivery schedules; normally receives general instructions on new assignments; and has work reviewed by Operations Management team for the soundness of technical judgment and overall accuracy.


    • Maintains high network availability build for redundancy and resilience
    • Understands and accounts for peak load; manages peak load events
    • Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for operational efficiency
    • Follows defined cost efficiency guidelines; continuously investigates alternatives to bring down operational costs
    • Documents and recommends improvements to current environment and practices
    • Implements and monitors network performance such as QoS; follows up on alerts generated by quality monitoring systems
    • Helps with security audits of the network and improves the security posture; follows security best practices
    • Follows procedures and policies defined as best practice to comply with audit requirements
    • Configures routers, switches, load balancers (NetScaler) and other network devices in accordance with published templates and standards
    • Tests disaster recovery setups both on a global and site-by-site basis
    • Creates reports on subsystem performance
    • Follows configuration management and review practices; suggests improvements to the more senior engineers
    • Attends trainings, seminars and Webinars to add to skill set
    • 24x7 on-call participation on a rotational basis required


    • CCNA certification or equivalent industry experience required
    • Bachelor's degree in CS or ECE or equivalent experience
    • At least 4 years of relevant experience with Enterprise networks
    • Experience with maintaining a 100 person or 500+ server network
    • 2+ years of on-call technical operations experience a plus
    • Must understand routing and switching; OSPF, GRE rewired
    • Fluency with Basic Networking: Ethernet, TCP/IP, HTTP, SMTP, NTP, SNMP
    • Basic programming experience a plus (Python, Perl, etc)
    • Customer oriented and willing to engage in the process of problem resolution
