    About the Position

    Jive is looking for an awesome software engineer with a knack for designing, building, and operating complex computing and networking infrastructures distributed across many data centers around the planet. Our focus is on reliability and scalability. As a member of the development team that owns the virtualization, containerization, logging, metrics, and monitoring and alerting infrastructure, your responsibilities will include architecture, design, development, deployment, and operation of all of its pieces on a global scale. Both open-source and built-from-scratch elements are used in a variety of programming languages (mostly Go, Java, and C, with some Ruby sprinkled on top). The team’s direct customers are other development teams who build real-time communications applications on top of the shared infrastructure.

    What You'll Do

    • Lead/contribute to engineering efforts from design to implementation, solving complex technical challenges around developer and engineering productivity and velocity
    • Design and build advanced automated build, test and release infrastructure
    • Drive adoption of best practices in code health, testing, and maintainability
    • Analyze and decompose complex software systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence design for testability


    What You'll Need

    • BS degree in computer science or related engineering discipline or equivalent professional experience
    • 5+ years of engineering experience in the software industry
    • Good knowledge of network programming, Linux containers, and systems engineering
    • Experience with software development on Linux/Unix
    • Knowledge of container orchestration—Kubernetes 
    • Knowledge of VoIP (SIP, RTP, etc.)
