    We are currently hiring a Staff Software Engineer in our Jersey City office.  This is a great opportunity for someone who has the desire to work with teams that are passionate about lean startup principles, innovation and creating amazing customer experiences.   

    Responsibilities

    In this position, you will/are:

    • A specialist in multiple fields, advises on design and development approach, and often acts as a Tech Lead
    • Lead junior team members in planning and prioritization of design and development activities to resolve a wide range of issues and meet business goals
    • Lead others in prioritizing and resolving issues and improving productivity and velocity to improve future results
    • Mentor experienced staff members, and lead working practice groups (e.g., for coding standards, or design review practices), and spot opportunities and recommend assignments that promote growth, both inside and outside the team
    • Work on complex projects and issues where analysis of situations or data requires both broad and in‐depth evaluation of variable factors.
    • Exercise seasoned judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results

    Qualifications

    • Master’s in computer science or bachelor’s plus 8 years of experience
    • Experience in C++ and one or more scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python) are required
    • Experience in Unix programming required
    • Knowledge of Object-oriented Programming (OOP); including, modular design and development.
    • Knowledge of data structures, collections and algorithms and familiarity with Linux based systems
    • Knowledge in Networking technologies and multi-threaded programming.
    • Self-Starter, quick learner and able to thrive in a culturally and technically diverse team environment
